Baby dedication

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it –Proverbs 22:6

Last Sunday, September 25th, was a special day for our boys, and Jared and I.  We dedicated our boys at Prestonwood which means we publicly made a statement to raise our boys in a Christian environment.  We know it isn’t always easy and we will fall short, but we know our family and church family are there to support and encourage us through this journey.

It was a weekend of fun and it started when my sister, Julie and her husband, Jerrod, came in and stayed with us Friday night.  Then, the rest of our family came in Saturday morning.  We all met over at my aunt and uncle’s house in Grapevine for lunch and to begin the boys’ special weekend.  Then, we all headed back to our house for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday night, we cooked out fajitas and had way too much yummy food!  It was so nice to have both sides of our family here, together, enjoying our boys.

Sunday morning, was a blur.  As usual, we rushed around all morning getting ready for church and everything that goes with getting 2 babies ready.  Of course, I wish we would have taken a family picture of all four of us all looking at the camera, but it didn’t happen.  What really matters is that the boys did great during the service, with the exception of Gage projectile spewing all over me when Jack said a prayer for us.  Love my “happy spitter” as our pediatrician calls Gage.  (Some pictures are blurry, apologizing in advance)

Sidenote: As soon as we walked off stage, we went back to the room where we met before service, and we planned on meeting our families there before heading back to our house for lunch.  Not really knowing what was going on, our parents had our car keys and cell phones so we wouldn’t have to carry them on stage.  BIG mistake!  We never saw our families after we got back to the room, which meant, they left and all went to our house and we were stuck at church with no phones or keys.  We needed to call them ASAP to get them to turn around and bring us our stuff!  But who remembers numbers these days when they are all saved in our phones?  Luckily, we ran into Jared’s boss Toni and Charlotte, and they helped us out.

We eventually made it home an hour later, cooked out hamburgers and enjoyed our family before they all headed back to Abilene.  What a fun and busy weekend.  Thank you Honey, Papa G, Aunt Julie and Uncle Jerrod, Easy, Granna, Aunt B, Cousins Braden and Camden, Jana, Ed, and Reid for making this weekend more special for our boys (and Jared and I).  We love you!
