This blog is a little out of order, but on the way to the beach, we decided to stop in San Antonio, which is half way to South Padre, and go to the zoo and stay the night to help break up our trip. We woke up early Sunday morning and headed down to San Anotone!
Our goal was to leave at 4:30AM, we left at 5…
as long as I had my coffee, I was good :)
We drove until about 7:45, that’s when the boys woke up and were ready to eat breakfast.
We found a McDonalds and fed them their usual, 2 nutri grain bars, 2 bananas and split some oatmeal.
They still had their jammies on in this picture :)
After breakfast, we I changed them, and then we found a park close by and let them run around and play.
You’ll never guess what we saw at the park?
Ducks!
Gage was sooooooooooooo excited!
Did I mention he LOVES ducks/ “buds”?
Where are Graham’s shorts? Well, after his second blow out of the morning, we had to “wash” them and let them air dry.
After chasing “buds” for an hour, we got back in the car and finished our trip to San Antonio.
We got there around 11; pretty good timing if you ask me.
The boys were so excited, can you tell!? ;)
Daddy and Graham looking at the monkeys
saw some fishies
Boys taking a drink break!
It was soooooo hot!
I mean, I know Dallas is humid, but wow! San Antonio felt like a stinkin oven! It must have been 400 degrees that day!
Huge turtle
Prairie dog?
Bald Eagle
can’t remember the name, but it was a cool lookin bird
I’m sure these animals have special names, but it was so hot, I didn’t really care to read what they were

we had to stop and “roar” at the tiger
Not gonna lie, the elephant was my favorite!
This one was completely under water and shot out so fast, it scared us!
Up next…
Lunch time!
I did pack the boys a ton of other food, but they were only interested in fruit. Probably because it was hotter than heck, out!
Moving on to…
Zebras!
Took this pic for my brother, Grant :)
Gage was pretty much done at this point
We were doing all we could to keep him entertained, but we decided it was time to go.
We met up with Jared’s sister Brittany, her husband, and their kiddos and went swimming at Hyatt Hill Country.
I took zero pictures, but it was so fun!
After we swam, we headed to the Riverwalk to eat.
and then of course,
we discovered more “buds”!!!
That concludes our eventful day!
We headed back to the hotel and all went to bed.
The next morning, we were on the road by 5 again, headed to the beach.
