Soooo behind on blogging, but trying to catch up.
We spent Easter weekend at our house, just the four of us. It was hard being away from our families, but we enjoyed some quality family bonding with our little family.
Easter morning.
Easter baskets
“snacks are our favorite!”
not too sure about these bunny ears
My mom always makes the best Easter lunch and I knew she was making it again this year. So I called her and asked her everything she was making, and the recipes, and I was determined to make all that for our family of four.
On the menu: honey glazed ham, hash brown potato casserole, green bean casserole, rolls, and sugar cookies.
I totally should have started making this on Friday so it would be ready for Sunday lunch, but that would have been too easy. :)
Instead, I decided to start this Sunday morning, after church, around 10:45 :)
You can imagine where this is going.
Does anything go as planned?
Nah.
Anyway, I was talking to my mom on the phone Sunday, after we got home from church, and she said her ham was taking longer than expected and I haven’t even put mine in the oven yet…
The boys were starving, and so were Jared and I.
We had a snack while chasing around two toddlers, preparing this huge meal, and trying to figure out when it was going to start raining (because we needed to get our Easter egg hunt started with the boys). We decided to just throw some eggs in the front yard and let the boys find them because it was supposed to storm all day. I put everything in the oven, and we headed outside.
Gage took off without his basket
he knew what to do
Graham took it upon himself to take both baskets…
while Gage was finding all the eggs
it was starting to rain and Graham didn’t want to get in the wet grass
Gage didn’t mind
he even remembered how to open the eggs and find the snacks inside.
Then, we quickly moved inside as it started to pour on us.
We finally ate a late afternoon lunch,
and dessert,
a quick family pic,
but Graham was ready for bed.
And so was I. :)
We had a great Easter Sunday with our little family. It was perfect!
