I was warned about this appointment and even dreading it a little. On May 26th, the boys had their 2 month check-up with Dr. G. After I saw how the boys screamed at their one month appt. from getting one shot, I was so nervous about this appointment because I knew they had to get 3 shots! Here the boys are just waiting so patiently, no clue what is about to happen to them.
Gage and Graham
First, the nurse weighed and measured the boys. Gage weighed in at 11 lbs 7 oz and 23 inches long. Graham weighed in at 10 lbs 8 oz and 22 1/2 inches long. The boys have been in the >25% for weight and height but today, Gage was above the 50% in all areas and Graham was above 50% in height. These boys are going to be tall! Here is a picture of their 2 month report cards. They got another A+, so proud!
Then, it was time to start the immunizations. They had to drink this liquid (Rotateq) and Gage choked it down. It took him about 5 minutes to drink it. Graham, however finished it in less than a minute. Then, the nurse cleaned both of their thighs and gave them their shots at about the same time. They cried for maybe 30 seconds and then they were done. The nice part is that Jared can console one baby and I can console the other. I will always need help at these appts!
The boys did so good, we decided to take them to Chick-fil-A to reward them (and their mommy)!
When we got home, the boys were so tired! They slept all day and hardly ate anything. (Gage started to run a fever first, so we gave him some tylenol. He ran fever for about 24 hours. Graham ran fever about 6 hours.) They were a little fussy and wanted to cuddle a lot, so that’s what we did.
Gage is so sleepy. Graham needing extra mommy time!
Lots of cuddling!
OUCH, there’s the evidence!
What a day!
