It all started…

about two weeks ago when I received my most favorite September magazine, Southern Living, in the mail.

fall

YESSS!!!  It’s here! I can officially get ready for FALL!

Even though it’s still 104 here, no lie (what’s up with that?) I am so ready for fall, and this magazine, with all its fall yumminess, just put me in the mood!

With fall coming, it also means I need all my FALL favorite scents, too!

I headed to Bath & Body, with the twins on each hip…What was I thinking? (whole ‘nother story for some other day)

and grabbed my favorite fall scent,

fall1

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin= YUMMO!

Side note: I’m pretty sure my mom and I discovered this scent (about 4+ years ago?) and now they have it in lotion and shower gel too.  So we can smell like pumpkin from head to toe. Woohoo!

Speaking of other favorite scents, I had to pull out my favorite Fall candles and Scentsy.

fall2 fall3

fall4

and Fall isn’t complete without my favorite FALL drink,

fall5

Pumpkin Spice Latte!

I might be sweating while drinking my pumpkin coffee, chasing two, non-stop, into everything, almost 18 month olds (how can that be?!) and all my Fall candles burning at once, it won’t stop this “FALL-lovin mama” from decorating this whole house! (just might have to crank up the AC for a little while)

My house is about to “throw up FALL” everywhere and I can’t wait!

Bring on the cooler weather, comfort foods, the sound of football on tv, and lots of family time.

Come on with it, FALL!

My little pumpkins are READY!

And just for fun, here are my little pumpkins about a year ago…

WOW! Have they changed!!!

(side note: this picture was back in the day, when I could just lay them on my bed, and they would stay there! What was that even like? I can’t remember!)

And for some more fun, here were my little pumpkins two years ago,

Psalm 68:19

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

Psalm 68:19

I have the bible app on my iphone and it’s crazy that when I opened it up today, this was the verse of the day.  Such a good reminder.

The last month has been an adjustment with the boys going down to one nap.  Every one keeps telling me I will love it, but I don’t love it right now.  Some days, they sleep 50 minutes, total, and other days it could be 2 to 2 1/2 hours.  Now that they have one nap, that is my one break to get a million things done and when they don’t sleep long, my list of “things to do” gets longer.

They have been real fussy/ whiney lately, runny nose, started coughing, and last Friday, Graham decided he needed to get up at 5:30AM and proceeded to do that for the next 4 days.  After a long day yesterday, not much of any nap, and them holding onto their ears and moaning, I decided maybe they weren’t teething, maybe it was more.  I took them in to the pediatrician at 4:15, along with all the other millions of sick kids, (second week of school, why is everyone sick already?) and come to find out, their ears are very infected.

2 Double ear infections, two antibiotics, and lots of motrin and tylenol  later, we are hanging in there.

I’m sad I had to miss bible study this morning because it seems like it’s going to be a great study, just what I need right now, but I know I made the right choice to stay home with them, instead of drop them off with a stranger, when they don’t feel good.  I am still learning to be self-less, and I have to do what’s right for the boys, instead of what I want to do.

This verse is a good reminder that I need to give everything to God, I don’t have any control, or can’t plan everything (although my type A personality always tries) because life just happens some times.  I just need to give it to Him and continue to ask for patience and wisdom during these hard times.

On another note, the cuddle time with the boys has been awesome!

cuddle time with Gage

This was Gage and me this morning.  Ignore my towel on my head, at least I made it to the shower today :)

Thank you, God, for this time at home with my babies and praying for healthy boys!

night out in the town

IMG_5773

A couple of weeks ago, my parents came into town to watch the boys so Jared and I could have a couple, much needed, date nights.

My sister and her husband surprised me and came in town with my parents.

We had a great weekend and did the usual “Gregg” family stuff: lots of eating, drinking coffee, shopping, family walks, and of course played with G & G, spoiling them with all kinds of goodies.  Gage and Graham’s favorite part of the weekend?  When Honey and Papa G took them to Target and let them eat animal crackers in the shopping cart (mama does not let them do that) and bought them BIG trucks or “BI tru” (emphasis on the BIG) as Graham calls it.

Saturday night, Jared, Julie, Jerrod, and I went to Shops of Legacy to eat and walk around.  Later, we headed to play top golf, but since it was a 2 hour wait, we left and went bowling instead!  Such a fun weekend spent with family!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

Olympics

I love, LoVe, LOVE the Olympics!

I always have!

And this year, was the best yet {Probably because we have two little acrobats to enjoy it with!}

{supporting America with our USA diapers}

I also, love to plan/ throw a little party, too.

Why not have an Olympic party on Opening Ceremonies night?

So I did.

IMG_5717

IMG_5714

I made little gold medals for everyone to wear.  The girls and little boys loved them, not so sure about the big boys.

IMG_5713 IMG_5715

Pioneer Woman’s Cherry Limeade, Yummo and all American food, too

IMG_5722

IMG_5719

The Cardwell’s came, of course.  I think Huddy was in bed when I took this picture.

Everyone had to wear red, white and blue :)

IMG_5737

it may look like the boys were happy to sit and watch the Olympics, but they could care less

they still don’t love tv, which I guess is a good thing

IMG_5735

Graham, going for the gold in… doing something he shouldn’t be

Gage, doing a little gymnastics on his chair

IMG_5743

The boys may not remember their first Olympics, but Jared and I sure will!

What a fun two weeks it was, so sad it’s over.

Frisco RoughRiders

For Father’s day, which I never blogged about, oops, I gave Jared a massage (sorry, Jare, secret’s out, you love a good massage) and 2 tickets to a RoughRiders game.  Two weeks ago, on Thursday night, probably the hottest night of summer, we decided to go.  With G & G.  Really?

IMG_5753

IMG_5754

The game started at 7, which is 30 minutes before their bedtime.  Oh well, it’s summer, throwin out the schedule.  {Just for a day, though.}

We decided to eat dinner before, and then get the boys some snacks (at the game) to hold their attention longer~ Parents of the Year, promoting good health! ;)

IMG_5755

we don’t leave home without the phone!

(look at that hair, by the way, wow!  no worries, we just got it cut)

IMG_5756

IMG_5758

IMG_5765

Thankfully, the game wasn’t very crowded, at all, so we had the whole first base side of the bleachers to ourselves, (and a few other adults, who were having too much fun).

We kept them content with a couple of my favorite ballpark snacks… peanuts and lemon chills, for about 5 minutes.

IMG_5764

Then, they were off.

IMG_5761

Up and down the steps.

IMG_5759

Running down the sidewalk.

IMG_5763

Playing in the dirt. (I don’t have a picture of them playing in the dirt.  I think I was too tired from chasing them)

IMG_5762

Until momma and dadda were tired of chasing them.

IMG_5760

So, around 8:30, we headed home.

Very fun night.

I think we will try again,

in a year,

and when it is a little cooler?

first trip with the twins, all by myself

I’ve never been called independent.

I’m okay with that.

But when I became a mom, I had to learn how to be independent real quick.  Especially being a stay at home mom of multiples.

And because I am able to stay at home with my boys, and Honey is off for the summer, and daddy was traveling all week, I decided to pack up the boys and head to Abilene.

All.by.myself!

It wasn’t a bad trip.

In fact, it was awesome!

We missed daddy, of course, but the trip and week, couldn’t have gone any better!

Because it was my first time to travel, alone with the boys, I decided to leave at 4:30 in the morning.

Why not?  I am a morning person, I can drink as much coffee as I want, in the quiet, without anyone tugging or pulling on me, and the boys will sleep the majority of the trip.

And that’s just what happened.

Graham woke up 30 minutes before we got in to Abilene and Gage slept the whole trip!

Perfect!

Here are some pictures of our week…

Braden

Braden and Graham

When we got in town, we went straight to Aunt Brittany’s for breakfast and a little play time with cousins.

Then, it was time for a nap.

The boys were being a little difficult for the morning nap.

So Graham slept on my chest…

Brittanyand Gage

and Gage slept with Aunt Brittany and Camden in Camden’s bed.

And for some reason, that was all the pictures I took that day.  We ended up staying at Brittany’s all day and then went swimming at the Country Club that afternoon.

After we spent the night at Granna and Easy’s, we headed over to Papa G’s and Honey’s house.

Aunt Juju bought the boys their first back packs!

They were pretty proud and wore them for awhile.

Lulu, also known as Lucy, came to play and the boys LOVED her!

We “rock-rock” –ed, a lot, on the back porch.

Papa G had to work that week, sad I didn’t get any pictures of him and the boys.

Hopefully next time.

We had a great week in Abilene.

Thinking we will try it again in the fall…
